Evaluation of simultaneous surgical operations in obesity patients

Aim is to study the quality of life in patients with obesity who underwent hernia repair, comparison a weight-correcting intervention. Materials and methods. On basis University Clinic was performed prospective 107 incisional hernia, prosthetic hernioplasty whose BMI exceeded 35 kg/m2. All operated were divided into compared groups. The first group consisted 36 (33.6%) who, addition correction, one bariatric procedure. second 71 (66.4%) only hernioplasty. In this groups assessed by SF-36 questionnaire before 1 year after operation. Results discussion. It found correlation between weight-correction surgery physical component health, indicating decrease role problems limiting patient's life. Significant differences revealed on scales functioning, health assessment, Conclusion. Performing simultaneous repair improves these patients.
